New in Bratislava?
New crew.
Came here to study or work and don’t know anyone? After your first practice with us you will have a crew to play with, travel with and hang out with after games.
How it works with us
- Practice: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 – 9:30 pm
- Games: at home and in the Czech league
- Road trips: tournaments around Europe
- After the game: together, as it should be
Can’t play? No problem. Most of us started from zero and we lend you the gear to start with.
Welcome to the team
Our team includes players from abroad, so English is no problem at practice. Come and try box lacrosse with us. Gear is on us for the first practices.
Box lacrosse in 30 seconds
Imagine hockey without ice and without skates. You catch, carry and shoot the ball with the net on your stick. It is played in an arena with boards, and contact is part of the game.
- 5 + 1Five players on the floor plus a goalie. You change lines quickly, just like in hockey.
- 30 secondsThat is all a team has to shoot. The game never stops.
- BoardsBody checks, battles along the boards and a penalty box. Not a sport for the faint-hearted.
FAQ
I have never played lacrosse. Can I come?
Yes. Most of us started from zero, often after hockey, basketball or football. At your first practice we show you the basics and nobody expects you to know everything.
Do I need my own gear?
No. We lend you a stick, helmet, gloves and pads to start with. Sportswear, indoor shoes and a bottle of water are all you need.
How much does it cost?
The first three months are free. If you decide to stay, the membership fee is €20 a month.
Where and when do you practise?
Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00 – 9:30 pm at the Areál netradičných športov (ANŠ), Pivonková Street, Bratislava.
I don’t speak Slovak. Can I join?
